ALTAMAR PREPARATORY SCHOOL (APS) is a K-12 bilingual (English-Spanish), Catholic school, with a personalized learning educational approach in which learning is adjusted to the strengths, needs, abilities and interests of each student. We are properly accredited by the Nicaraguan Ministry of Education and by COGNIA in the United States. COGNIA is an educational community formed by the merger between North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), Southern Association Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI) and National Study of School Evaluation.

APS is a faith based, learner centered and data driven school. We offer an early learning program that provides students with a rich and organized stimulation so that they reach optimal levels of maturity, development and learning, according to their personal conditions. A magical, rich in stimuli atmosphere that enhances students’ creativity and makes them feel happier is created in the classroom. The program marks an itinerary to stimulate students, offering a framework so that they can fully develop the abilities that are given to them innately:

At APS we educate hand in hand with parents, teaching our students to make an effort every day, to do what they understand they should do, make good use time, take advantage of their own talents and try to overcome their own challenges. We teach by daily example, with our effort to live in values, creating habits, with constancy, living coherently in the presence of God and men. Through our comprehensive educational program we attend to the five aspects of each of our students. Habits, values and virtues are at the core and are the bases for the development of our students and their personal improvement.
